The Remarkable Energy Story
Transformative technology that recycles waste plastic into high-value products.
Our mission is to help address plastic pollution by giving waste plastic a value
Our journey
Our technology has been granted patents in the UK and US (Europe pending) and is the culmination of 7 years R&D and collaboration with a university partnership
Driven by the need to address plastic pollution, science is at the core of our recycling process. We combine gasification and catalytic chemisty to create a proprietary recycling process.
We have our own catalyst laboratory and catalyst production facility for a fully integrated business model.
Our founder and team
Remarkable Energy was founded by Ed Douglas Miller an MD with a track-record of delivering multi-million pound manufacturing and recycling businesses. His awards include Inventor of the Year, Recycled Manufacturer of the Year and Outstanding services to industry for the introduction of environmental products to business.
The Remarkable Energy team is made-up of commercial and academic experts that include Chemical Engineers, Chemists, Precision Engineers, Process and Electrical Engineers and Waste Resource experts.
Our partners
In addition to initial equity funding, Remarkable Energy has secured commercial and academic collaborations with a number of institutions securing significant grant funding.
Our partners include Heriot Watt University and its Research Centre for Carbon Industries, Scottish Enterprise, Innovate UK Knowledge Partnership Networks, Interface, and the Emerging Technologies Fund for Hydrogen.

Technology status and plan
Remarkable Energy has adopted Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) for assessing our technical progress. Having achieved TRL7 - a scaled-up demonstration production process - our technology is ready for commercial trials and deployment. Our planned progress will achieve levels 8 and 9 between 2023 and 2027. Level 9 will be full commercial realisation.
